She has a huge heart for our local unsheltered community and volunteers weekly at a Coffee Shop for the unsheltered with York C.A.R.E.S. So how does Art Club work? Students (in 7th-12th grade) who attend 18 South are welcome to join Art Club, which will meet for two hours weekly, on Wednesdays. Each month we will be working with and exploring a new art medium. We will go over different techniques for each medium that we will then use to create original works of art. One of the really cool and absolutely unique things about Art Club at 18 South is that students have daily access to supplies and artists who are able to offer daily one on one instruction. Students who want to continue working on their art throughout the week are encouraged to! If you know 18 South, you know that if we can’t bring the opportunity to the kids we find a way to bring the kids to the opportunity! Through Art Club students will also have the opportunity to go on field trips to local art galleries, museums, and other art related events. We want our teens to see and experience thriving art communities, to network and make connections, and to inspire them to keep creating! Art Club will host an annual student art gallery at 18 South where students will have the opportunity to display their works of art and be present as the artist. We want our students to feel confident, accomplished, and proud of their work as they network and set off into the world as young artists!
